Ron Wong, PhD

Ron Wong is Professor of Civil Engineering with University of Calgary. He obtained his degrees from McMaster University and University of Alberta. Before joining the university, he gained more than 10 years of experience in geotechnical and structural engineering in consulting and energy sectors. He was the Department Head in 2008-2017. His current research interests include soil-pipe interaction, geomechanics in oil sand and shale, hydraulic fracturing in tight gas shale, and fatigue behavior of geomaterials under environmental loading.
